The girls receive housing, food, and education free of charge, as all these services are subsidized by the Charity Board.<\/p><p>The home is named after Mr. Manuel Galecio, who financed its construction, and was originally located in the city of Guayaquil. This establishment, like so many other buildings in the city, was devastated by the great fire that occurred in the city in October 1896. Due to this, the girls were transferred to Colegio La Providencia, but unfortunately another fire, the Carmen fire in July 1902, destroyed Colegio La Providencia. In 1907, a new shelter was built.<\/p><p>Due to the increase in the number of girls served by the then-called &#8220;asylum,&#8221; in 1951 it was decided to build a new location in Alaus\u00ed. The Guayaquil Charity Board signed a loan agreement with the Ministry of Public Education, which facilitated the teaching areas for the school and college to operate, and the Ministry assumed the payment of teaching staff.<\/p><p>The Board maintains a building as a home for the girls, with dormitories with 130 beds, dining rooms, a chapel, a theater, courts, and other services. The minors receive a comprehensive education provided by the religious sisters who administer the home: Instituto Santa Mariana de Jes\u00fas \u2013 Province of the Most Holy Trinity.<\/p><p>The home for girls is located in Alaus\u00ed, province of Chimborazo.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who Are We?
