Admissions

The Manuel Galecio home welcomes more than 100 girls from low-income backgrounds.
Parents, guardians, and other legal representatives of prospective scholarship recipients must submit scholarship applications for admission to the Home from January to May 31 of each year. For this purpose, they must use the scholarship application forms, which can be obtained from the Secretariat offices of the Board of Charity’s Directorate or from the Home’s administrator in Alausí. In order for the application to be considered, interested parties must complete all data fields and provide the information requested on the forms.

The selection of applicants and the awarding of scholarships will be the sole responsibility of the establishment’s Inspector. To make a decision, in addition to the information contained in the applications, consideration will be given to inquiries and verifications that the inspector personally conducts or designates someone to conduct, and the written reports submitted by the social workers appointed by the Board. Currently, this work is carried out by the Mother Superior and the clinical psychologist, Mariana Redroban. This is how the current situation of the applicants is determined.
The administrator of the Manuel Galecio Home, who represents the Inspector in the establishment, for the purposes of good administration and the care of the scholarship recipients, collaborates in the granting of scholarships that the Board carries out.
It is an indispensable requirement that the applicant be from 5 to 12 years of age, have a minimum grade point average of 8/10 and a conduct grade of 8/10.
