A total of 85 fellows from the Hogar Manuel Galecio in the Alausí Canton, Chimborazo province, benefited from the donation of 100 mattresses and 100 beds made by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Maria del Carmen Naranjo, Administrator of the Home, thanked the Church of Jesus Christ for the donation received, which will allow the completion of the renovation of the dormitories; an initiative that adds to the improvements that the Home is making to receive the fellows, prior to the start of the school year, Sierra cycle.
Within the renovation and improvements is the implementation of a security system with 40 video surveillance cameras and 4 IP speakers; the installation of 22 showers with a hot water system; as well as the renovation of the music rooms with new instruments for learning and the craft, sewing, painting, and game rooms, which directly benefit the girls.

The Board of Charity of Guayaquil, through the Hogar Manuel Galecio, provides fellows with free lodging, food, and education to girls and adolescents whose parents or families are of limited economic resources. The girls range between 5 and 17 years of age and come mostly from the Sierra and Amazon regions. 80% of the fellows come from these regions and 20% from the coast region.
For their education and training, the home has tutors, computer rooms, music, theater, computer, courts, dining rooms and other recreational areas, as well as a library and chapel for their religious formation.
